SPORTS PROJECT TOPICS AND MATERIALS
According to the World Bank encyclopedia (2006), sports involve these activities that demand a combination of physical skill and strength alert mind, enthusiasm, purpose and usually team work. For the purpose of this study, sport is seen as involving athletics and games. Sports have come a very long way; the term is as old as the human race. It was started by the prehistoric or primitive man right from time under what was popularly referred to as traditional physical education with its main objectives being to provide food, and shelter, socializing the individuals, recreation and survival of the individuals within the community. As time went on, these sporting activities began to take new shapes and dimensions due to the emergence of modern physical education in Greece at about 3000 B. C. With the advent of modern physical education and its novel objectives based on the needs of the Greek people (Athens and Spartan), sporting activities began to show some changes due to the introduction of new rules and regulation, new facilities and equipment and organization of standard competitions as opposed to the area of traditional physical education.

Sport Centres has in many ways improved the lives of people in all walks of life not minding their abilities and limitations; that is, physical or mental disabilities. The Sport Centres used for disabled individuals is described as assistive Sport Centre.
The objective of the study was to examine and determine the availability and utilization of assistive Sport Centres for special education in Nigerian Sport Commission Metropolis as well as determine the influence of teacher’s gender, qualification and experience on the utilization of assistive technology. Thus, the study provided answers to some six research questions listed below:
1. What are the assistive technologies (AT) available for special education within Nigerian Sport Commission metropolis?
2. Are available assistive technologies (AT) utilized for teaching special education students?
3. What is the frequency of use of assistive Sport Centres (AT) for special education students?
4. What is the influence of the Disability’s gender on the utilization of assistive technology?
5. What is the influence of the Disability’s educational qualification on the utilization of assistive technology?
6. What is the influence of the Disability’s teaching experience on the utilization of assistive technology?

1.1 Background of the study
During obesity the body experience dramatic physiological and psychological changes which is natural and to remain healthy, the obese people must indulge in regular physical activities call exercise.1 The professional health workers need to carefully design physical exercise programme to enable the obese people remain healthy. In country like Brazil, her Ministry of Health stipulates that in addition to consultation and medical care, breathing and relaxation techniques should be taught for better control of labour and general well-being (2). Different exercise programmes are available for obese people; these exercises include aerobic exercises such as dancing, walking and swimming. Another type is Kegel exercise; this involves tightening of pelvic muscles to control urine flow (3).
Exercise has been known scientifically and physically to promote blood circulation to the vital organs such as the brain, liver and heart etc; exercise also improve pelvic bone and muscle tone thus enhancing normal safe delivery of baby during labour (5). Exercise is an activity requiring physical effort done to improve health, it is a physical or mental activity that is done to stay healthy or become stronger. Exercise session in health clinic should be designed to stimulate interest in the physical changes occurring to promote body awareness and to facilitate physical and mental relaxation.

Sports have been regarded as an integral part of the society. According to Sage, (2007) sports can also be described as activities involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or for the purpose of entertainment. Sports may have the tendency if well organized to change the entire human personality (whole-man) through active and passive participation. Such components of personality that sports are capable of transforming include: physical, social, moral, mental, and emotional (Agbomi, 2012).
