This research work is based on a comparative analysis of consumer’s attitude towards different brands of motor oil lubricant products. The major objective of this study is to compare the attitude of consumers towards different brands of motor oil lubricant product. To identify factors influencing consumer preference of a particular brand of motor oil lubricant product. To compare consumers attitude towards different brands of motor oil lubricant product. To find out if price has any effect on the quality of such product. To determine which of the brands is more available in the market for the consumers to buy and be satisfied. Some issues were addressed by the researcher and the instrument used by the researcher for data collection was mainly questionnaire.

This study is confined to only three production companies in Enugu metropolis. This means that the empirical study covered only to the staff of these companies, and their distributors. This limited scope is not withstanding, it is hoped that the finding which may generate from the study will be useful to both the staff of these companies and students, who intended to undertake marketing as a profession.

Current, NASCO household products are market leaders in most part of the country . this study reveals the extent to which advertising is considered a central in delivering the company’s corporate objectives. The population for this study consist of (1,000) out of which a sample size of one hundred and Ten (110) is chosen for this study. The major problem of administrating the questionnaire is lack of proper understanding on the part of the respondents on the use and need of such questions. Problems were also encountered in the areas of non-availability of secondary data from PZ industry and the explanation for non availability of such data was that it would violate the company business policy. It look the researcher quite a reasonable time before PZ could provide the needed secondary data that were used.

It is important to make it clear that this study is the first on analysis of promotional techniques and their fit with business organizations in Nigeria. Promotional technique should not be confused with a marketing objective or mission. Promotional technique describes how a firm will achieve the stated goal in a way which is consistent with the mission, perhaps by detailed plans for how it might build a referral network, for example. Technique varies by type of market. A well-established firm in a mature market will likely have a different promotional technique than a start-up. The researcher is curious to know what will happen when a business organization adopts a promotional strategy that does not fit the type of business and market, hence the need to examine the analysis of promotional techniques and their fit with some selected business organizations in Kano State.
