ABSTRACT
This
study examines the factors motivating adult learner’s participation in
functional literacy programs in Benin metropolis. The instrument used for the
study was the questionnaire consisting of thirty items. The questionnaire was administered to one hundred
respondents (Adult learners) from five selected literacy centers. The
questionnaires were successfully completed and returned. Five research
questions were raised to guide the study. The scale used for the scoring was
the Likert form at. The data was statistically analysed using simple
percentage.
Based on the findings, some recommendations were
made and which if implemented will encourage more and better participation of
adult learners in functional literacy programme.
